About Me |
|
As a professional software Architect I have 25
years experience of designing and implementing software systems for
government and commercial clients. I have developed the AstroWorkBench applications over many years and use them for my observing sessions. I decided to release them as freeware hoping that they may be of use to other astronomers. I have had lots of feedback from people all over the World, so thank you to all! Here I am in my observatory with my main scope. Yes, you've guessed it, its a Meade LX200. Actually, its a LX200 10" classic which has given me well over a decade of good use. My number one all time top tip is, if you have the opportunity, to permanently mount your scope and properly polar align and PEC train it. The LX200 classic then becomes an infinitely better scope and can give you some very good results and achieve accurate tracking. See my articles for more on these subjects. In the photo below I am in my old observatory. Details on my new observatory build and pier construction can be found here.
